I had my friend come over last night who belongs to a local electrician's union and he was nice enough to look around my new house and see things that needed to be done (changing outlets, adding a air vent in the bathroom). He started taking out all his doohickies and stuff and realized damn... what kinda of talent do I have.
I guess I have knowledgable talent. It's not anything that can be used around the house or if lets say a friend calls you over and he needs help with something. I'm an editor so I don't get too many calls from people asking me for my expertise. I don't expect anyone anytime soon to say "Are you free this week? I can sure use those editing skills of yours right about now."
I did help my sister with her son's elementary school newsletter and was able to find a few typos but I'm sure if kids are going to write to the head of the newsletter and complain about their grammar.
I guess that's what has me worried about this interview. What if I show that I have useless talent? They want someone with experience in managing titles (which I do) along with some light Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and Quark skills (which I have to some extent). Am I going to come across as some phony that if hired will be chastised by manager who'll tell me "Didn't you say you were skilled in this?"
I better start ironing my shirt and dwell on how my interview went later.
